Sticky rat traps are commonly used in rodent control, but often the same trap can catch five or six rats with one sticky trap, while for others, the trap remains untouched, or even escapes after getting on it. Why is this? It's because you're not using the sticky trap correctly and haven't mastered the proper techniques. If used correctly, sticky rat traps can be incredibly effective at catching rats. Below, Hongmi Machinery will teach you how to use sticky rat traps correctly:
1. How to Use a Sticky Rat Trap
Step 1: First, peel off the outer plastic film covering the sticky trap. After opening the trap with both hands, remove the anti-stick clips. These clips have small holes; you can use a toothpick to pry them open.
Step 2: After removing the anti-stick clips, repeatedly open and close the sticky trap to increase the activity of the adhesive. This is especially important in winter when the temperature is low, as the adhesive strength may decrease. This will make the adhesive more sticky.
Step 3: Place peanuts, nuts, fried dough sticks, or other things that mice like to eat in the center of the sticky mouse trap as bait. You can choose the bait directly from the location where the mice are infested, because the mice have already shown you what they like to eat through their actions. When setting up the sticky mouse trap, make sure to preserve other food in the room so that the mice can't eat it.
