Sticky mouse traps are a common rodent-catching tool, characterized by being colorless, odorless, safe, and environmentally friendly. They are typically made of cardboard coated with a strong adhesive (hot melt glue), which traps mice and other rodents when they pass by. They are also effective at catching cockroaches.
Suitable for locations sensitive to other rodent control methods, such as food factories, pharmaceutical factories, and kitchens. Sticky mouse traps not only trap mice but also cockroaches, flies, bedbugs, centipedes, and other insects. Similar products include flypaper, cockroach traps, and insect traps.
1. Quantity: A systematic rodent control approach is unrealistic; expecting a single sticky mouse trap to eliminate all rodents is unrealistic. Place one sticky mouse trap every 5 meters along wall corners, and ensure sufficient numbers are placed in areas with high mouse activity.
2. Target: There are many types of rats with different characteristics. For house mice, simply laying out a sticky mouse trap is sufficient; for brown rats or yellow-breasted rats, fold the trap along the dotted lines to form a hollow triangular prism, securing it with rope or cable ties. 3. Bait. Use bait such as cake, sausage, or peanuts to attract mice. Place the bait in the center of the sticky trap so the mouse will get stuck. (Some sticky traps come with pre-applied bait, usually two button-like objects. These usually have a peanut scent; don't remove them thinking they prevent the trap from sticking.)
These two button-like objects are actually scented bait.
4. Technique. Before opening the sticky trap, squeeze the adhesive on both sides with your hands to make them stick together, then tear it apart. This maximizes the stickiness and effectiveness. Also, during rodent control, cover or remove all food and garbage that mice might come into contact with to prevent them from eating.
